THE KING OF ROCK & ROLL  © CJ Harding  All Rights Reserved
When I was just a little bitty thing
Not much older than eight
Love Me Tender and old hound dog
Were my favorite records to play
Then I heard he was comin’ to town
I told my mom I was goin’ down
To see the man they called the King of Rock & Roll                                                                                                                            We were standin’ on the corner by the skatin’ rink watchin’ everybody line up
Wishin’ we had tickets to see the show
They were only five dollars a pop
They said he’d come in a limousine
But he arrived in a taxi cabThat’s the first time I saw
The King of Rock & Roll

Chorus:
The King of Rock & Roll
Is all I could see
The King of Rock & Roll
Standin’ right in front of me

He leaned over to take my hand
Little girl you’re mighty sweet
Did you come to see me sing in my show                                                                                                                                         Can I give you a picture of me
I shook my head in disbelief
My knees were shakin’ so bad
When I fell in love with
The King of Rock & Roll

Chorus:                                                                                                                                                                                    The King of Rock & Roll
Is all I could see
The King of Rock & Roll
Standin’ right in front of me

That night as I walked through my neighborhood
My autographed picture in hand
I was so excited completely dazed
Did I really touch the man
Well, I hung that picture on my wall
I kissed it till it fell apart                                                                                                                                                             When I fell in love
With the King of Rock & Roll

The King of Rock & Roll
Is All I could see
The king of Rock & Roll
Standin’ right in front of me

RIVERBOAT © 2007 CJ HARDING ALL RIGHTS RESERVED                                                                                                            Chorus:   I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat   -    I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat
Cause if I step down off that riverboat, I don’t think that I’m a gonna float.
Cause there’s mud just below that sparklin’ water – There’s mud just below that sparklin’ water
And it’s soft, soft, deep and warm, settled in a river after a storm
Mud just below that sparklin’ water

There’s just two things that you get in life – One is joy and the other is strife
You’re the only one that can decide
Understanding your ups and downs – It’s hard to make decisions count
One step forward and two steps back again.

Chorus                                                                                                                                                                                         I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat – I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat
Cause if I step down off that riverboat, I don’t think that I’m a gonna float

Give me some music some foot stompin’ kind – Some blues played with a bottle neck slide
You know I’m just a misplaced country girl
So why don’t you let your troubles loose – Let the music take away your blues
Let’s roll up our sleeves and get right down to it.
Finding time to feel real nice – We all get tired of payin’ the price
For the bargain basement sale we found next door
We all start lookin’ over the fence – for the thing that will bring us happiness
It’s love you know that keeps me satisfied.

 Full Chorus
I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat, I ain’t gonna step down off that riverboat
Cause if I step down off that riverboat, I don’t think that I’m a goona float
Cause there’s mud just below that sparklin’ water – There’s mud just below that sparklin’ water
And it’s soft, soft deep and warm, settled in a river after a storm
Mud just below that sparklin’ water, Mud just below that sparklin' water,
Mud just below that sparklin' water, water, water, water

ALL ALONE © 2007 CJ HARDING ALL RIGHTS RESERVED                                                                                                                      Keep a fire burnin’ in the night you knew I’d always be in sight
Keep lookin’ up to the skies
I don’t remember what went wrong we were always singin’ the same song
It’s not the right time for goodbyes
I feel the hurt, guess I’ll cry – that’s just my way to justify
All the feelings that’s gone by

Chorus
Just love the ones that you have known – from all that love you have grown
Just feel all the love you’ve ever known – Cause tonight, tonight you’re all alone
There’s blindness in a love that’s strong – life can be an even song
Even though I stumble now and again                                                                                                                                           Guess there’s no need to belong to any one dance or one song
I’ll just keep my wings to the wind
A broken heart that will mend – a lost lover and a friend
But I know that love will come again
I’ll keep a fire burning in my heart – even though we’re so far apart
It’s not in me to sing the blues
Cause I’ve got other things to do than to sit around and wait for you
When I’ve got no one I’ve got no one to lose
I’ll just put on my dancin’ shoes and do the dance that I choose
Cause tonight I know I’m not with you                                                                                                                                             Chorus
Just love the ones that you have known – from all that love you have grown
Just feel all the love you’ve ever known – Cause tonight, tonight you’re all alone
Cause tonight, tonight you’re all alone,  Cause tonight, tonight you’re all alone

GAME FOR FOOLS  © CJ Harding  All Rights Reserved

It’s so hard lovin’ you in the mornin’ at a quarter to two

Your breath smells like cigarettes and your eyes are bloodshot too.

You said you’d be home at eight;  Did you really expect me to wait.

You know I spent all afternoon with this chicken and cartoons.

I finally got the kids to bed; little Joey, Ernie and Ted.

You now a phone call sure would have been nice.  Hey hey, it’s really been a slice.

Well, this dinner sat here till ten, just waiting for you to walk in.

You’ve got the nerve to ask if there’s more?  Why sure it’s all on the floor.

You’ll find some on the wall.  You’ll find the rest down the hall.

There’s broken glass everywhere.  I can see you found it; think I care.

You’re bleeding feet can’t compare with my heart.

My mother said you were a loser from the start.

You better quit while you’re ahead.

Get off that glass before you’re dead.

Chorus   Love me tender; Love me true

I can’t seem to make it with you-------oh Lord.

We’re tryin’ to fake it, we can’t seem to shake it

You know love, well it’s a game for fools.

Why do so many nights end this way,

With me cryin’ and you beggin’ to stay.

You tell me you’re sorry our problem is licked.

An ad on TV said try phoning in.

Well, you made the phone call, but it was too late.

You bled to death when they ask you to wait.

Your last words as you laid there in your blood were

 “Can’t you see I’m just mis-understood.”

Repeat ChorusI guess you’re expecting some lesson in this song

You think there’s a right; Perhaps there’s a wrong.

But I don’t blame all of this on him.

You see the boat just sank and he couldn’t swim.

 Repeat Chorus

Happy trails to you, until we meet again.

Sweet Sensimilla   © CJ Harding  All Rights Reserved

Eighty acres on a river a dream come true

There were eagles, otter and bear

We had a plan to pay it off

We’d grow some Humbolt Redhair

We found us a patch in the woods

Got a bucket, a shovel and a pack

Plenty of sun and a clear mountain stream

And you know we never looked back

We planted those seeds gave them love and care

Then we dried those plants in a shed

We manicured those sweet smellin’ buds

Then we sold’em to the Greateful Dead.

Chorus     Sweet Sensimilla, it was the golden dream

                Sweet Sensimilla, the California Queen

Now this story holds more than money and dreams

And I can’t say who was right

People will do what they have to do

And most are ready to fight

They get taken in by all their desires

Some forget and some will blame

Some will rob you and then they will run

And innocence will turn insane

Well I don’t recommend this as an easy way out

There are swat teams and organized crime

They’re just waiting for you to walk in

And they’ll do more to you than blow your mind

There are some who will kill you if you just trespass

And others will invite you in

Then there are some who will take you to jail

And others who’ll preach it’s a sin.

Chorus     Sweet Sensimilla; it was the golden dream

                Sweet Sensimilla; the California Queen

Lucky for me I never got caught

Good Karma I guess was the key

Cause there’s law on the outside & law on the inside

And there’s the law of Harmony

Chorus     Sweet Sensimilla; it was the very best kind

Sweet Sensimilla; guaranteed to blow your mind.
